The Happiness Project, Part 2

Our Happiness Project group met today for our first meeting of 2014.  I am so excited about the possibilities.  Everyone has something unique to bring to the table, and we will pursue our 2014 resolutions in a variety of ways, meeting the needs and desires of each individual.  I took my plan, ready to share, but I was so impressed with the plans presented by the others.  I love Gretchen Rubin's book, but her system worked for her and we are adapting it to work for us.
Of course, the pursuit of happiness is extremely personal.  Why would we all follow the same plan, the same themes, the same goals?  Victoria brought her charts, Evelyn brought her binder.  Sheralyn has a pocket calendar and I have my blog.  Christie and Carolyn are still working their ideas out.  The one thing we have in common is that we are not content to stay in our comfortable place.  This year we will spread our wings, reach, stretch, learn, become aware and change.  A metamorphosis.
I really want this blog to be about sharing what I am learning.  And it won't just be about the Happiness Project.  If I read, learn, or come across any interesting or inspiring little tidbit, I want to share it with you.  I love it when someone else shares their perspective with me and I have an "a-hah" moment.  I love to see things in a new way.  I think I've spent most of my life searching for those missing pieces of the puzzle, and whenever someone pops a new piece into place I can see more of the picture and it gives me a certain satisfaction.
To sum it up, this is why I am excited for the group this year:
1.   We need our friends.  We need a safe place to share our dreams and our struggles.  We need the perspective of others.
2.   We need to be accountable to stay on track.  I will use this forum to do "my thing" during the month knowing that I will share an overview of my journey with the group.
3.   We need to be inspired.  Life can be hard on us.  When we are having a challenging time of it, nothing is more motivational than to be around others who are overcoming their challenges.  With a smile on their face.
